Shortsea Shipping welcomes SPC Estonia

Date: 11/11/2010

The European Shortsea Shipping is pleased to announce the establishment of the Estonian SPC. Spc Estonia will be invited to the ESN meeting in Brugge (December 8th) which will make the membership official. It was decided by the Council of Estonian Logistics Cluster with the presence of Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, that Estonia will officially join the ESN.

Estonia will be presented by the Logistics Cluster. Legal body for the Estonian SPC will be the Lead Partner of the Cluster – Estonian Logistics and Transit Association (non-profit organization). The Estonian Logistics Cluster was established in June 2010, and it has presently 19 members, out of which 15 are the leading logistics companies in Estonia (including all leading ports, Estonian Railway, and major port operators), two associations and two universities. The Cluster development was initiated by the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, who is also the present ESN focal point in Estonia.
