Date: 12/04/2011

Four TEN-T European Coordinators – Péter Balázs, Carlo Secchi, Luis Valente de Oliveira and Karel Vinck – as well as Commission Director for Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) Policy and Smart Transport, Jean-Eric Paquet, participated in a forum organised by the Committee of the Regions on the perspectives of EU Transport Policy and Trans-European Networks for regions and cities. They took part in different workshops which focused on the impact of TEN-T on the competitiveness of EU regions as well as the role of regions and local authorities in financing TEN-T projects and their governance. The European coordinators shared success stories of the TEN-T policy as well as the need to further consolidate EU action and have a global investment strategy.

More than 250 experts at regional and local level, practitioners and politicians participated in the event. An exhibition of TEN-T Priority Projects was also presented by the TEN-T Executive Agency to accompany the event.
