A family alliance between ACL and Finnlines

Date: 15/02/2012

The two companies controlled by the Grimaldi Group of Naples, are to launch altogether a new service from North America to Finland and Russia.

ACL Atlantic Container Line has commenced a new weekly ro-ro service from North America to Russia and Finland using its own transatlantic vessels and sister company Finnlines' ice-class Baltic vessels. Cargo (vehicles, projects and uncontainerized cargo) moves worldwide under a single ACL through bill of lading all the way.

ACL has fixed day-of-the-week calls at New York, Baltimore, Norfolk and Halifax; in Europe, at Antwerp (PSA Terminal, Quay 869). Finnlines vessels call at ACL's terminal every week and sail to Helsinki, Kotka and St. Petersburg. Both companies are owned by the Grimaldi Group of Naples.

The ACL vessels have an extensive fleet of ro-ro equipment: mafi trailers and special project trailers. Most Finnlines vessels were built in 2011, with more launching this year.
