ESN encourages ports and operators to contribute to Shortsea index survey

Date: 10/04/2013

Last month, ESN launched its Shortsea Index, which addresses the shortsea in EU ports system and in shipowner activity. Port authority, shipowners and other shortsea stakeholders were kindly invited to contribute before 15 April.

ESN will run periodically similar types of surveys. It will allow the tracking of progress and trends regarding the performance of the sector over time. The reporting of the trends gives credibility to the sector and provides evidence of the progress.

The data collected will feed the second edition of the Market Observation Report , which was initiated in 2012 as part of the Commission co-funded "ESN, the way forward project". Individual port responses will be kept strictly confidential. Only aggregated data at European level will be analysed and reported.
