Navigate has brought the 7th edition of its Shortsea-Euro Conference for the second time to Antwerp.
With almost 120 participants the attendance for this conference was a success. The sessions were centred around a number of core topics: the market and the opportunities for shortsea, the upcoming sulphur norm, the expectations and requirements of the shippers and the status quo of the European regulations.
The interaction with the participants provoked an animated discussion, in particular about the sulphur norm. Various practical examples were included in the sessions.
The European Commission has confirmed that, as far as it is concerned, shortsea is important and that the administrative simplification (Blue Belt, electronic manifest etc.) will be high on the agenda in the coming months.
Intense networking took place during a round trip in the port of Antwerp and between sessions.
