Factsheet on 2015 CEF call: Requested funding is nearly twice the available budget

Date: 11/03/2016

The main objective of CEF Transport is to help complete the TEN-T Core Network and its Corridors by 2030 and the Comprehensive Network by 2050. A total budget of €22.4 billion has been allocated for grants for TEN-T projects in the EU Member States for the 2014-2020 period. From this budget, €11.3 billion is reserved for projects in Member States eligible for the Cohesion Fund.

Following almost €13 billion allocated to selected proposals under the 2014 CEF Transport calls, two additional calls were launched on 5 November 2015. Of the €7.56 billion total budget of the 2015 CEF Transport calls, €6.5 billion is available under the Cohesion envelope call and €1.1 billion is available under the General envelope call. Evaluation of the submitted proposals will take place between February and May 2016.
