Stena Line Strengthens Supply Between Poland and Sweden

Date: 17/07/2017

Stena Line has announced that it will add a fourth ferry to the service between Gdansk (Poland) and Karlskrona (Sweden). The additional vessel will be lined up from 28 August.

The Swedish company explains in a statement that the decision to strengthen supply has led to the "strong continuous growth" of the goods segment. In 2016, the number of cargo units on the route increased significantly and in the first five months of this year this growth continued, according to Stena Line.

The additional vessel that will be introduced on the route is M / V Gute, which is in the Swedish company chartered by Gotland Rederi. The RoRo vessel of 7 616 gross tonnage will join the Stena Vision, Stena Spirit and Stena Baltica ferries.

The introduction of the M / V Gute, built in 1979, with a capacity of 865 linear meters of round load, will add eight trips per week to the route, for a total of 44.

"The route between Poland and Sweden is strategically important for us and an integral part of the infrastructure linking the central part of Europe with Scandinavia. Over the past few years, we have experienced extremely positive growth in volumes and we believe this will continue, "said Marek Kiersnowski, the commercial director responsible for the operation of Stena Line between Poland and Sweden.
