DFDS introduces improved schedules on its two sideport / container vessels on Germany / Belgium / UK – Norway

Date: 07/09/2017

We have seen an increased need for capacity on our container / sideport routes from the UK to Norway for both containers and bulk cargo. Therefore, both our container / sideport loops will now call in the UK (Immingham).

This will double the capacity from the UK to Norway. At the same time, the vessels will call at Fredrikstad instead of Moss. We have been happy with the terminal and port in Moss, but we need a wider geographical coverage in the region. So in the end Fredrikstad was the natural choice, also seen from an environmental perspective, as it will reduce the number of kilometres on the road.

The schedules have been updated in order to improve our service and offerings in line with customer requirements.

•        The key change is that we now have two weekly calls from UK (Immingham) – one direct call Immingham – Fredrikstad v.v. and one direct call Immingham – Oslo v.v.

•        Furthermore, we can now offer a weekly service to / from Belgium (Zeebrugge) and the UK (Immingham) to the Port of Fredrikstad (Borg Havn).

•        We will be able to offer container transport from Hamburg to Immingham.
